In vitro experiments have indicated prebiotic activity of isomaltulose, which stimulates the growth of probiotics and the production of short chain fatty acids (SCFAs). However, the absence of in vivo trials undermines these results. This study aims to investigate the effect of isomaltulose on composition and functionality of gut microbiota in rats. Twelve Sprague–Dawley rats were divided into two groups: the IsoMTL group was given free access to water containing 10% isomaltulose (w/w), and the control group was treated with normal water for five weeks. Moreover, 16S rRNA sequencing showed that ingestion of isomaltulose increased the abundances of beneficial microbiota, such as Faecalibacterium and Phascolarctobacterium, and decreased levels of pathogens, including Shuttleworthia. Bacterial functional prediction showed that isomaltulose affected gut microbial functionalities, including secondary bile acid biosynthesis. Targeted metabolomics demonstrated that isomaltulose supplementation enhanced cholic acid concentration, and reduced levels of lithocholic acid, deoxycholic acid, dehydrocholic acid, and hyodeoxycholic acid. Moreover, the concentrations of propionate and butyrate were elevated in the rats administered with isomaltulose. This work suggests that isomaltulose modulates gut microbiota and the production of SCFAs and secondary bile acids in rats, which provides a scientific basis on the use of isomaltulose as a prebiotic. 相似文献

The present research focuses on intensified synthesis of tricaprin by esterification reaction between capric acid and glycerol catalysed by dry amberlyst-15 using ultrasonication approach. Effect of several reaction conditions like molar ratio, reaction temperature, and amberlyst-15 loading on the rate of conversion has been studied. Effect of ultrasonic conditions like duty cycle and irradiation time on the intensified synthesis is investigated. Recyclability of amberlyst-15 is studied to make process more economical. It is investigated that the optimum reaction conditions which gave maximum conversion of 95% were molar ratio of capric acid: glycerol as 3:5, reaction temperature 90 °C, 4% amberlyst −15 loading. It was further investigated that ultrasonic conditions which gave intensified synthesis were 70% duty cycle and irradiation time of 120 min. The ultrasonic assisted process was compared with conventional synthesis. Conventional synthesis gave 30% yield in 120 min and 82% in 18 h. Amberlyst-15 was successfully reused for 13 cycle without any change in the conversion (%) of reaction. 相似文献

Branched chain amino acids (BCAAs), alanine and glutamine are determined in human plasma by capillary electrophoresis with contactless conductivity detection (CE/C4D). The baseline separation of five amino acids from other plasma components is achieved on the short capillary effective length of 18 cm in 3.2 mol/L acetic acid with addition of 13% v/v methanol as background electrolyte. Migration times range from 2.01 min for valine to 2.84 min for glutamine, and LODs for untreated plasma are in the interval 0.7–0.9 μmol/L. Sample treatment is based on the addition of acetonitrile to only 15 μL of plasma and supernatant is directly subjected to CE/C4D. Circulating amino acids are measured in patients with pancreatic cancer and cancer cachexia during oral glucose tolerance test. It is shown that patients with pancreatic cancer and cancer cachexia syndrome exhibit low basal circulating BCAAs and glutamine levels and loss of their insulin-dependent suppression. 相似文献

In this work, we aim to observe and study the physics of bacteria and cancer cells pearl chain formation under dielectrophoresis (DEP). Experimentally, we visualized the formation of Bacillus subtilis bacterial pearl chain and human breast cancer cell (MCF-7) chain under positive and negative dielectrophoretic force, respectively. Through a simple simulation with creeping flow, AC/DC electric fields, and particle tracing modules in COMSOL, we examined the mechanism by which bacteria self-organize into a pearl chain across the gap between two electrodes via DEP. Our simulation results reveal that the region of greatest positive DEP force shifts from the electrode edge to the leading edge of the pearl chain, thus guiding the trajectories of free-flowing particles toward the leading edge via positive DEP. Our findings additionally highlight the mechanism why the free-flowing particles are more likely to join the existing pearl chain rather than starting a new pearl chain. This phenomenon is primarily due to the increase in magnitude of electric field gradient, and hence DEP force exerted, with the shortening gap between the pearl chain leading edge and the adjacent electrode. The findings shed light on the observed behavior of preferential pearl chain formation across electrode gaps. 相似文献

Exploration of novel, three-dimensional chemical space is of growing interest in the drug discovery community and with this comes the challenge for synthetic chemists to devise new stereoselective methods to introduce chirality in a rapid and efficient manner. This Minireview provides a timely summary of the development of palladium-catalyzed asymmetric redox-relay Heck-type processes. These reactions represent an important class of transformation for the selective introduction of remote stereocenters, and have risen to prominence over the past decade. Within this Minireview, the vast scope of these transformations will be showcased, alongside applications to pharmaceutically relevant chiral building blocks and drug substances. To complement this overview, a mechanistic summary and discussion of the current limitations of the transformation are presented, followed by an outlook on future areas of investigation. 相似文献

In this paper, a three-species food chain model with Holling type IV and Beddington–DeAngelis functional responses is formulated. Numerical simulations show that this system can generate chaos for some parameter values. But the mechanism behind chaos is still unclear only through numerical simulations. Then, using the topological horseshoe theories and Conley–Moser conditions, we present a computer-assisted analysis to show the chaoticity of this system in the topological sense, that is, it has positive topological entropy. We prove that the Poincaré map of this model possesses a closed uniformly hyperbolic chaotic invariant set, and it is topologically conjugate to a 2-shift map. At last, we consider the impact of fear on this three-species model. It is an important factor in controlling chaos in biological models, which has been validated in other models. 相似文献

研究了两量子比特海森堡XXX自旋链处于x方向的非均匀磁场时系统的纠缠特性,并用负度N来度量.得到N的解析表达式,并在此基础上进行数值计算.仔细讨论了均匀磁场B、非均匀磁场b、温度T和自旋耦合系数J对纠缠度N的影响.结果表明:N会随着■和T的增大而减小,但会随着J的增大而增大.同时,增大的J和b还会使临界磁场■和临界温度Tth变大,从而使系统中热纠缠存在的磁场范围和温度范围都变大.这一点在较大磁场和较高温度下需要纠缠具有实际意义.由此,我们可以通过调节B、b、T和J来控制热纠缠,这对固态系统中通过构建和选择参数调整系统的纠缠度具有一定的作用和意义. 相似文献

Two new chemically stable metalloporphyrin-bridged metal-catechol frameworks, InTCP-Co and FeTCP-Co, were constructed to achieve artificial photosynthesis without additional sacrificial agents and photosensitizers. The CO2 photoreduction rate over FeTCP-Co considerably exceeds that obtained over InTCP-Co, and the incorporation of uncoordinated hydroxyl groups, associated with catechol, into the network further promotes the photocatalytic activity. The iron-oxo coordination chain assists energy band alignment and provides a redox-active site, and the uncoordinated hydroxyl group contributes to the visible-light absorptance, charge-carrier transfer, and CO2-scaffold affinity. With a formic acid selectivity of 97.8 %, FeTCP-OH-Co affords CO2 photoconversion with a reaction rate 4.3 and 15.7 times higher than those of FeTCP- Co and InTCP-Co, respectively.
